About this Research Topic

Abstract Submission Deadline 02 December 2022
Manuscript Submission Deadline 31 January 2023

This Special issue aims to report the ongoing research into experimental and numerical models in phenomenon related to coastal and ocean engineering with a special emphasis on hydrodynamics and sediment transport in steady and unsteady flows.

Topics of primary interest include, but are not limited to: mathematical and numerical investigation of turbulence characteristics in coastal areas, CFD modelling (RANS, LES and DNS) of hydrodynamics and sediment transport in coastal areas, oceans, analytical modelling of flows and phenomenon in coastal areas, long term coastal dynamics, soft computing techniques for phenomenon related to coastal engineering and wave-current interaction in coastal waters.
All original contributions with analytical and/or numerical approaches in the mentioned areas will be considered for publication.

The scope of this research topic covers issues relating to analytical and numerical modelling approaches in the context of coastal and offshore engineering. Issues under this research topic could be connected to, but are not limited to, the following areas:

● Coastal Processes
● Computational Fluid Dynamics
● Turbulence Characteristic
● Wave-current interaction
● Soft computing
● Mathematical Modelling

Keywords: Coastal processes, Computational fluid dynamics, Turbulence characteristic, Wave-current interaction, Soft computing, Mathematical modelling

Important Note: All contributions to this Research Topic must be within the scope of the section and journal to which they are submitted, as defined in their mission statements. Frontiers reserves the right to guide an out-of-scope manuscript to a more suitable section or journal at any stage of peer review.
